Building a Reputation
Increasingly Rehearsal Room actors are being recognised for their skill levels. ANNABEL PEMBERTON did such a good audition for Blue Heelers that even though she didn’t get that part she was immediately asked back to audition again for another role. DARREN MORT also didn’t get the Blue Heelers role he auditioned for but because of the quality of his audition is being kept in mind for other roles.

And teenager SAMANTHA HIRD was amongst a small group of actors who were called back for the final selection process for a new Neighbours family. Auditions aren’t about getting the gig. The goal should be to do the audition well so that the actor’s capabilities are recognized in the audition studio. That’s the basis of The Rehearsal Room approach to performance process. These actors are building a reputation.

PETER DAVENPORT not only did a good audition but also was lucky enough to be given a guest role in Episode 478 of Blue Heelers. ALINTA CHIDZEY has also won the part of Mickey in the musical “Leader of the Pack” playing at Crown Casino in July. Both these actors warmed up for their auditions by doing audition coaching at The Rehearsal Room.

“LOST” Success And DAVID PATERSON plays ASIS officer Robbie Hewitt in a flashback sequence of new hit series LOST entitled “The Greater Good”.The episode is set in London and Sydney. DAVID was returning to LA after a six-week stint on NEIGHBOURS as Michael Cassidy (Lynne’s half brother) but stopped off in Hawaii to co-star on “Lost”. Now billed as DAVID ROSS PATERSON as per Screen Actors Guild requirements DAVID has had a number of great opportunities recently. He has also been employed by the LA Philharmonic as a Teaching Artist in their Inside/Out program, developing Performance/Spoken Word skills. “It runs for about ten weeks. My kids team with their peers in student orchestras working with professional musicians from the Phil to present a performance in word, movement and music.” DAVID also teaches acting part time at the UCLA Extension Program.

Film Vic Success
PETER DAVENPORT’S series concept "Spin", has received Film Vic funding to develop the scripts to the next stage. PETER is an actor who is working at generating programme content as a way of creating acting work. Congratulations PETER.
