AUDITIONS
The first auditions for 'Hobson's Choice' will be on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd February at The Rehearsal Room, 18 Clendon Road, Armadale. Hobson - IAN SMITH (Neighbours); Maggie - CAROLYN LLOYD; Willie - PETER DAVENPORT are already cast. Nine other characters are open for audition. Details below.
It is a profit share production being staged in the 240 seat space at Chapel Off Chapel for a 3 week season from 29th May to 14th June. Rehearsals will start from the beginning of April and will be on Friday nights Saturdays and some Sundays. Actors need to be ready to be available full time for the dress rehearsal week 24 - 29 May. The production opens on Thursday 29th May at 8pm.
ACCENTS - the play was originally set in Manchester in 1880 but is being moved to Chapel Street, Prahran for this production. So, the play is now set in Australia in 1880. The Hobson family will maintain Lancashire accents but there is more freedom with the other characters.

| 5. Henry Horatio Hobson | Father of Maggie, Alice and Vickey he owns Hobson's Shoe Store and is the employer of William Mossop and Timothy Wadlow. Henry is a widower and an alcoholic. |
| 6. Mrs Hepworth | A member of the establishment, she is older with a curt manner and good clothes. Audition Scenes available - to request a copy click. |
| 7. Timothy Wadlow (Tubby) | Long term employee. He is the foreman of the workshop and is older than Willie |
| 8. William Mossop | About 30 years old, stunted mentally by a brutalised childhood he is the raw material of a charming man. Will is the junior member of the workshop team at Hobsons but the superior craftsman. |
| 9. Jim Heeler | A grocer and local businessman. Like Henry he is an habitual and large drinker. Audition Scene available - to request a copy click. |
