A necessary evil for most actors.
Necessary because it brings hope of opportunities to act or better still
the chance of being paid to perform. Earning money doing something
you love is a wonderful thing.
Evil because it entails the stress of
being judged and the pressure of performing well (inside a small window
of opportunity) when in fact the one thing that makes it hard to excel
is that you care about the outcome so much.
