Off-Cut Seventeen Jack Nicklaus reflects on Tiger Woods Said Jack, "He has the ability to hit irons a distance I've never seen before & he can control 'em and move them back and forth and do what he wants to. He plays smart. He plays well within himself. He knows exactly what he's going to do. He doesn't care what anyone else is doing. He's interested in putting the ball where he thinks it's the right place to play and he's got such marvelous control over the ball that he does it." - Saturday 19th August 2000. It seems Tiger's secret is - to not stretch his capabilities. If he's playing well within himself he is always only attempting to do things he knows he can achieve. That means he is comfortable with his goals and relaxed about achieving them. THINK ABOUT THIS - His talent and capabilities are fixed. They only change slowly with practice and experience. His performance is a success only if he plays comfortably within his capabilities. SO KEEP PRACTICING AND GAIN EXPERIENCE - in the meantime when you are performing don't extend yourself to new and dangerous heights but stay confidently within the parameters you know you can achieve. AND....keep listening.
